Andrey Ivanov
Live show and studio sound engineer
Andrey started his career in 1993 in a band Black Obelisk. He worked in a legendary Moscow studio SNC. Andrey recorded the following albums: "The Wall", "I Will Stay" (Black Obelisk), "Arms Collector" (Splean), "Goroda, gde posle dojdya dymitsa asfalt" (Garik Sukachov), "Good news", "First Snow" (Moralny Kodex).
Andrey worked at live shows with the bands: Garik Sukachov & Neprikasayemye, Moralny Kodex, TOKIO, Nogu Svelo!, Irina Krug, Mumiy Troll.

Maria Soboleva
Sound engineer, professor, Head of Sound Engineers Guild
In 2001-2010 Maria was head of Sound Engineering Department at Gnessin Russian Academy of Music. Since then and now she is a head of Sound Engineering Department at Institute for Modern Culture.
Maria is the author of numerous scientific papers and academic programmes. She is also a regular holder of master-classes for Russian and foreign audiences.

Pavel Babaev
Sound engineer
Pavel was born in Moscow and received his basic music education at a music school on a class of piano accordion.
In 1996, when he was a 1st year student at university he started working for then unknown company “T-Audio”. Before that he had no notion of live sound. In 1998 he started working on a mixing console. Since then he has worked with a big variety of Russian and foreign artists both as a FOH and MON sound engineer.
In 2000 Pavel got acquainted with the theatre “Quartet I” and since 2001 together with the band “Neschastny Sluchai” and company “T-Audio” has taken part in theatre pieces “Den’ Radio”, “Den’ Vyborov”, “Pisma i pesni...” as a technical director.
In 2008 Pavel started working with the band “Neschastny Sluchai” as a FOH sound engineer and continues doing it up to the present.

Nadezhda Rakhmanova
Sound engineer, university professor
Nadezhda graduated from Sound Engineering Department of Nizhny Novgorod State Conservatoire. She is the author of scientific paper on the supremacy of creative element above technical factors in sound recording. Nadezhda has a solid experience of making live sound for various shows: from rock concerts and musicals to symphony concerts and operas.
Today Nadezhda Rakhmanova is a sound engineer at Mariinsky Theatre, senior lecturer at St. Petersburg University of the Humanities and Social Sciences, member of the international association AES.

More than 20 years experience of working as a Live Sound Engineer with Depeche Mode, Phil Collins, Genesis, Bruce Springsteen, Eagles, Nickelback, Rhianna, Enrique Iglesias, Shakira and many many more.
A beyerdynamic engineer since 2000. Specializes on wireless systems, frequency coordination, wired microphones and headphones. Project engineer for several projects with a lot of wireless channels (theatres, universities, etc.)

Alexey Buravlyov
Specialist in digital audio equipment
Alexey is a member of MixArt Distribution since 2012. He works with professional audio equipment of the following brands: Allen & Heath, QSC, Audio-Technica and Denon.
Alexey identifies himself as a sound engineer-"theorist" in concert and studio sphere. He holds trainings on digital mixing consoles Allen & Heath of dLive, SQ and QU series.
Alexey is an active musician and leader of a musical project Sunwalter.

Phil Kamp
Head of Sales at KLANG:technologies, monitor sound engineer, keyboards player
After graduating in "Keyboards and Music Production" at Münster’s conservatory in 2008, Phil Kamp started working for several recording studios and live productions. Phil has been mainly touring as a monitor engineer e.g. with Henning Wehland, "Voice of Germany" winner Ivy Quainoo and persian pop star Ebi. As KLANG:technologies’ Head of Sales, he takes care of trainings and workshops. He also stays in regular and close contact with KLANG's world wide user base to support the ongoing development of the company’s immersive binaural audio solutions.

Frazer Gall
Lecturer at Backstage Academy
From an early age, Frazer could be found behind the sound desk at school or church. At the age of 18 he moved to York, whilst working as a logistics manager, he began volunteering for local production companies, soon progressing onto working as a venue technical manager and freelance sound engineer.
In 2010 he took up a full-time position as the Events Department manager at Rock-tech Projects. Working on a wide range of events, conferences and corporate shows, no two days were the same. Throughout this time, he still managed to get in front of a sound desk, working predominantly with UK and African Gospel acts.
In 2014, Frazer was invited to deliver guest workshops at Backstage Academy. These covered a wide range of subjects including Digital Audio Networking, Show Control and Event Planning. This guest role soon became a full-time position, with him now leading the Sound Engineering Modules for all three year groups. In addition to this, he keeps up to date by freelancing as a sound engineer, technical consultant and trainer for venues and organisations all around the UK.

Vasily Filatov
Sound designer, composer, founder of Sound Design Institute, media producer
Vasily is a leading expert in the sphere of sound design. He is deeply involved in scientific and educational activities. He has created sound design for such international brands as YataPhone, Disney Channel, Mercedes, Porsche.
Vasily is an outside advisor on formation of educational systems and a juryman at film festivals in Russia and abroad. He is a winner of many international awards in the sphere of sound design and music including EventS, TagLine, NYF Advertising Awards.

Liliya Gainutdinova

There is no one in our profession who would not know Liliya Gainutdinova. She is a professional who has a big hands-on experience of fieldwork and knows the industry from inside. Now Liliya is developing three top brands: L-Acoustics, AVID and Solid State Logic. She also gives the training courses for sound engineers on working with mixing consoles SSL and AVID.

Evgeny Shuev
Head of the Department of Acoustics Calculations (ARIS), DiGiCo expert
Being a professional engineer with higher technical education and also a sophisticated guitarist Evgeny successfully combines his talents and experience as one of the leading engineers at the company ARIS.
Since 2015 Evgeny has been developing the focus area of acoustics calculations. He took special courses at Architon (Russia) and also at ADA and d&b audiotechnik (Germany) studying software EASE, Sound System Optimization and Line Array Theory.
Evgeny was directly involved in several serious projects by ARIS: Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre, Sports Palace n.a. Ali Aliev, Church of St. George in Paralimni (Cyprus), Moscow State Duma and many others.
Besides, Evgeny is an expert specializing in DiGiCo mixing consoles. He has been working with the brand since 2010. Evgeny took two educational courses at DiGiCo Head Office in London and holds trainings on the SD-series throughout Russia himself.

Boris Agapov

Boris graduated from Moscow State Art and Cultural University in 2000, Faculty of Conductors, Musical variety arts department. His speciality is conductor of a jazz orchestra, special instrument - electric guitar.
Boris is an actively performing musician.
Boris Agapov has a longstanding professional experience of working at various concert halls, studios and also in the sphere of Pro Audio equipment sales.

Ruslan Semenov

According to his own words Ruslan is “single, wealthy beyond the dreams of avarice, reasonably good-looking and smart”. He is always in quest of the one and only sound of highest quality.

Igor Novikov
Technical director of the Installation department (company “Sonoruss”)
Acoustic systems by L-Acoustics are renowned technical means for providing sound coverage in cultural, sport, recreational and business facilities. In early 2000s Igor Novikov and his partners were the first to bring L-Acoustics line array V-Dosc to Russia. For already 6 years Igor has been the head of the Installation department of the company Sonoruss, certified L-Acoustics representative in Russia. He implemented dozens of projects with L-Acoustics equipment in Russian theatres and concert halls. Igor Novikov can entirely cover the topic of the brand and show all L-Acoustics technologies in science terms.

Ivan Medvedenko

Ivan has been playing the drums since school and believes there is still lots to learn. His sound engineering career started by chance (a real sound engineer of the band where Ivan was playing didn't come to the show and thus he had to do the live mixing himself).
Ivan is sure that music is only 30% of creative work and 70% of knowledge.

In 2017 Steven joined the CODA Audio team as head of application. Now Steven heads up the education and training department for CODA Audio International spreading the CODA Audio technology and philosophy around the world.

Rachel Nicholson
Head of Institution, Backstage Academy
Rachel completed a degree in Lighting Design, before being awarded a postgraduate studentship to study an MA in Theatre Practice where she specialised in Lighting and Digital Scenography. After graduating, she enjoyed a freelance career working in a variety of venues and companies including Sadlers Wells and The National Theatre as a Lighting Designer and Technician, before returning to education permanently in 2006 as a tutor and later Programme Director for Technology Led Programmes at Rose Bruford College. She completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education with the University of Greenwich in 2009.
Over the past 14 years she has designed, developed and managed innovative programmes of study in both Sound and Lighting, working with industry professionals and industry bodies to ensure that students are exploring issues of contemporary practice and train with state of the art technologies.
Rachel has been the Head of Institution at Backstage Academy since 2018.

Gaëtan Grenier
Director of the company WNM, sound engineer
Gaëtan Grenier has a more than 25 years experience of working in the sound industry. His company WNM provides audio-visual services for more than 20 years. Their main speciality is radio and TV projects and also delivery of equipment and top-level engineers for holding high-profile events: the Olympic games, World/European Football Championships, the Champions League, various TV-shows, music festivals and others.

Dmitry Vdovin
Organizer of the Congress
Dmitry started his sound engineering practice within a musical band in 1987. His professional career continued in the studio SMS specializing in on-site orchestra recording. Later Dmitry got the job of the technical director of the Volga region No.1 rental company ALEF where he also doubled as a monitor sound engineer. As the latter he worked with Nazareth, White snake, Ken Hensley, Glenn Hughes, Soul Fly, Jean-Jacques Milteau and many other stars.
Nowadays Dmitry is a Bose Professional division employee and also a professor at the Sound Engineering Department of Samara State Institute of Culture.

Formerly Sergey worked as a SHURE product manager in Sonoruss Group and also product manager of Roland professional product line.

Alexander Lourie
Head of group of companies "Unvis-Pro"
Alexander graduated from Moscow Aviation Institute, faculty of radioelectronics in 1991. Then he worked at a defense plant for some time.
Since 1994 Alexander is in the sphere of professional sound. He is in favour of natural, "uncoloured" sound. Designing his acoustic systems Alexander pays much attention to minimizing frequency and phase distortions and highlights linear phase-frequency response of sound transmission.

Ian Staddon
VP sales at DiGiCo
Ian is one of the most famous professionals specializing in digital consoles.
Ian has been working for a long while for Harman Group, first at Soundcraft and then at Studer as a VP sales.
Beginning from 2011 Ian has been an international VP sales at DiGiCo.

Vitaly Azarov
Sound engineer of theatre and concert projects
Since 2013 Vitaly Azarov has held the position of a technical director in the rental company “Stage Audio”. In 2019 he completed certification training in AVID office in the UK, successfully passed the exam and confirmed his status of an ACSR* specialist providing international support of AVID Live consoles (*Avid Certified Support Representative).

Mikhail Sokolik
Theatre sound engineer
Mikhail graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television in 2012. Since then he started working in theatre. Essentially he specializes in musical theatre.
In 2012-2014 Mikhail worked in Moscow Musical Theatre with shows «Rastratchiki» (Big spenders), «Vremena ne vybirayut» (You cannot choose the times), «Zhizn prekrasna» (Life is wonderful).
Since 2014 Mikhail Sokolik is part of the theatrical company StageEntertainment. There he worked on musicals "Phantom of the Opera", "Singin' In The Rain", "Cinderella", "Dance of the Vampires", "Ghost", "BatoutofHell" (Germany).
Besides Mikhail worked on musicals "Love Story" (Vladikavkaz, 2013), "O'Henry's Christmas" (Moscow Pushkin Theatre, 2014), concert performance of the "Phantom of the Opera" (State Kremlin Palace, Moscow, 2018), show-cases BroadwayDreamsFoundation (Moscow, 2016-2018).

Igor Gaydarov
Igor is a multi-discipline expert of the whole Shure product line. He is a specialist in RF management and is a teacher of this and many other courses in Shure Audio Institute.
Besides he provides a professional customer support as a technical solutions engineer of the brand.

Ilya Lukashev
Recording and sound mixing engineer, concert sound engineer, co-founder of WaveForum
Ilya has a wide experience of dealing with music of different genres. For the last few years he has successfully cooperated with many outstanding artists as: Therr Maitz, Yolka, Manizha, Zventa Sventana, Polina Gagarina, Noize MC, Guru Groove Foundation, Mariya Tchaikovskaya. He also worked on several movie soundtracks. Apart from working actively with Therr Maitz Ilya also makes sound mixes for various other artists.
Ilya Lukashev enthusiastically encourages different educational initiatives in the musical sphere and gladly shares his knowledge and experience.

Viktor Shopin
Practical specialist in visualization systems development and management of complex objects and show programmes
Viktor is the only certified Dante trainer in Russia and the author of official materials in Russian language for preparing specialists working with protocol Dante by Audinate.
Viktor has a more than 10 years experience of working in the sphere of show technologies. His speciality is system integration of audio-visual systems, development and programming of systems controlling complex objects. One of his activity areas is popularization of visual technologies and creating systems of end-to-end show programme design.

Vladimir Filatov
Council member of Association “MIR-MIO”, co-founder of the company Universal Acoustics
Vladimir Filatov has studied music and electronics since childhood. In 1995 he graduated from Moscow University of Culture and Arts qualified as a choral conductor. In 1996 together with the engineer Sergey Markhay, Vinnytsya Polytechnic Institute graduate, founded a company producing professional acoustic systems. More than 20 years of effective co-operation of “music and physics” allowed them to achieve high results in the industry.
Nowadays apart from business activities Vladimir is involved into public work concerning development of professional audio equipment manufacturing in Russia.
